Q: How does AmericEd support teachers after certification?
A: Certified teachers are invited to workshops offered by AmericEd throughout the year. Also, all certified teachers automatically become members of AmericEd’s online community, a community that connects educators who want to share classroom experiences and discuss better methods of teaching. Furthermore, certified teachers will be given the opportunity to teach parts of the IEC course. Finally, certified teachers may opt to be contacted by schools seeking IEC certified teachers.
Q: Why certify?
A: Our children deserve to have the best teachers in their classrooms. Because teachers not only teach subjects but also influence character, we believe that all teachers should be held to very high standards. The International Educator Certification (IEC) is based on five core foundations.
Five Core Foundations
-
Teachers teach and treat all children as if they are their own.
-
Teachers demonstrate mastery of methods of teaching and of the subjects they teach.
-
Teachers are held responsible for their students’ learning and well-being.
-
Teachers constantly work on improving their instruction and on gaining knowledge.
-
Teachers cooperate with parents and administrators for the success of their students.

Q: What are the offered certificates?
A: We offer the following certificates:
-
The IEC: International Educator Certificate (Digital Certificate ONLY)
This is the main teacher certificate offered by AmericEd. It is designed to cover the fundamentals of teaching. This certificate covers the areas of classroom management, pedagogy, instructional methods, technology in education, parental support, and effective assessment. In this version of the certificate, teachers who successfully complete the program are awarded an official verifiable Digital Certificate that can be printed, shared with employers, and added to the teacher's LinkedIn profile. This version is less expensive than the version below and does NOT include an attested printed certificate.
2. The IEC: International Educator Certificate (US Dept. of State Attested Printed Certificate + Digital Certificate)
This version of the IEC certificate is identical to the version above; however, in addition to obtaining an official digital certificate, the teacher will receive a printed certificate that is notarized and attested by the United States Department of State in Washington, DC.
3. Individual Master Classes (Digital Certificate ONLY)
Teachers can register for individual master classes that cover topics included in our IEC program. Each master class can be paid for and attended separately. The teacher will receive a digital certificate of attendance. Please note that certificates of attendance will not be issued for teachers who attend any of our free master classes. However, those teachers will have the option to pay for the master class after attending the free class if they wish to obtain a certificate of attendance.
